Typically scholars tell the story of the Jazz Bowls as if there are only three bowls: the parabolic, the flared, and the Poor Man's, each bearing the New Yorker decoration. In reality Viktor designed at least 10 unique Jazz Bowls and Jazz Plates; while only four went into full production (owing to the Cowan Pottery's bankruptcy), the series must be discussed as a set in order to be fully appreciated.
This 12-page, full color publication tells the complete story of the Jazz Series (so far as we now know!), including the ones made by Cowan and the ones Viktor is now producing. The information contained is based on the research of Craig Bara, Mark Bassett, Heather McClellan, Richard McClellan, Sunny Morton, and others.
