By Henry Adams. Cleveland Museum of Art, 2000. The first book-length treatment of Viktor Schreckengost's body of art and design work. Written in conjunction with the first one-man retrospective exhibition of a living artist at the Cleveland Museum of Art in 2000-2001, this book contains an extended biographical introduction and 154 pages of text, color reproductions, photographs, and contextual images relating to Viktor's art and design careers.
Both the exhibition and the book received unprecedented public response: the Cleveland Museum of Art went through two printings of the catalogue and 70,000 visitors attended the show.
Now in its third printing, this book remains a seminal work in the critical understanding of the influence of Viktor Schreckengost on 20th-century design. Click here for a review of the book.
